I’ve been talking to a lot of people this week.
For hiring, for research, just to understand how people process their emotions so I could do better work.
And without exception, everyone is in some version of figuring it out.
Someone who moved countries for her family and is still finding her ground there.
Someone who left a career she’d spent years building, not entirely sure what comes next.
Someone who has a very stable career but isn’t sure what kind of life she imagines for herself.
All of them. Still figuring.
But the thing is — every single one of them assumed others have it together, and just not them.
That the uncertainty, the not-knowing, the feeling of being mid-something, was only something they were going through.
But it seems like it never is.
Everyone is carrying some version of it, all the time.
We just don’t say it out loud enough.
